Day 11 Itinerary - Amsterdam

A.

Brussels

Just a quick stop in Brussels. We weren't heading there specifically, but all roads somehow seemed to lead to the Manneken Pis statue, even if it's just in a shop window. Other than that, the city is beautiful and we could have spent more time there. We wanted to focus our attention in one spot for a few days so we board the train for Brugge in the afternoon.

Time spent: 2 hours

B.

Brugge

In the Middle Ages, Brugge was the wealthy capital of Flanders but fell into decline during the Renaissance. Over time, new buildings were built or facades were changed to the latest styles. Starting in the late 1800's and as late as the 1970's, some  building facades were reconstructed in a consistent medieval gothic style. The town has received a lot of criticism for "Disneyfying" itself. It's beautiful and enjoyable, nonetheless.

Time spent: 3 hours

C.

Brugge at Night

I head out alone to take a few sunset and dusk photos.

Time spent: 1.5 hours.
